What is OCISense?
OCISense is an advanced infrared spectrometer designed for the accurate analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in exhaled and ambient air. The OCISense is designed to detect and quantify ethanol molecules in exhaled air, providing valuable information for determining breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) and assessing intoxication levels.
The measurement chamber of the sensor is ingeniously designed to be crossed by infrared radiation. As exhaled air flows through this chamber, the molecules of interest selectively absorb specific wavelengths of the radiation, resulting in a perceptible reduction in the optical signal. Using principles such as Beer-Lambert’s law, the sensor accurately calculates the concentration of ethanol present, offering essential data for medical diagnoses, forensic analysis, and monitoring alcohol intoxication levels.
